Plateau State Civil Road Network & Stormwater Drainage
Project Scope & Architectural Mandate
Strategic enclave selection, developer partnership, and program requirements.
A vital regional civil road and hydraulic drainage project engineered across rugged highland topography in Plateau State to eliminate severe seasonal erosion, provide flood immunity, and establish reliable transit access for local communities.
The Engineering Challenge Overcome
Managing coastal water tables, hydrostatic pressures, and differential settlement risks.
Plateau State's highland topography and heavy seasonal rainstorms subject unpaved roads to devastating hydraulic runoff, slope instability, and rapid subgrade washout. Constructing durable transportation infrastructure required designing continuous, high-capacity reinforced concrete line drains and culverts capable of intercepting and safely discharging torrential stormwater off the steep laterite slopes before laying asphaltic concrete pavement.
Civil roads that cut corners on continuous stormwater drainage face rapid deterioration: erosion gullies, subgrade saturation, pothole collapse, and complete seasonal roadbed washouts. By combining deep reinforced concrete line drains, precast culvert structures, and high-density compacted asphaltic courses, Mukaiburger builds enduring regional lifelines that protect public and commercial investments for decades.
Heavy Plant Fleet, Pavement Execution & Oversight
Mechanized compaction, bituminous spray, slump tests, and structural safety.
Under the direct on-site leadership of Engr. Azeez Mukailah (FNSE, COREN), the engineering team executed systematic cut-and-fill grading, followed by deep drainage canal excavation and precision timber formwork casting. Heavy civil plant—including motor graders, CAT loaders, ASCA bitumen distributor spray tankers, and tandem steel vibratory rollers—executed crushed stone base compaction and hot asphaltic concrete placement with zero tolerance for subgrade ponding.
Photographic Site Records & Structural Evidence
